Buy Low and Sell High

We all know that is the secret to success in the stock market right? Easy enough buy an asset cheap, sell it for more than you paid for it and repeat that way all the way to the bank. Difficult at best in real life, not as hard as you might think in Entropia Universe....if you pay attention that is. One of the great things about a real cash economy game like Entropia Universe is the ability to make money playing a game. One of the many ways people playing the game make a few extra PEDs is to play the resource markets. The real money comes from knowing when it is going to be high and low, that comes with experience.

Let's say you notice an announcement for an event based around a robot invasion on Planet Calypso. Historically hunter's flock to events in the hopes of getting a rare item in loot or winning the contest and gaining a worthwhile prize. Trouble is, crafters will still need resources like muscle oil and liver oil that only come from hunting animals. Pretty soon the market will be flooded with robot parts and the animal oil market will dry up a small amount. This causes the market price of animal oils to go up through the simple yet undeniable force of supply and demand. If you have the bankroll to fund it, you might be well served to go to the auction, buy a bunch of the the cheapest yet commonly used oils on the auction. You will want to place these in your storage and sit on them until the market supply dries up and the price goes up to a reasonable yet profitable price, then sell them to a crafter who is happy to get them.

Another great tactic is when new items come out. Everyone has to have one.....prices soar.....there are only a few around.....people are begging to buy it. There are two scenarios you might find yourself in here. One, the best one, is you have looted or won the item in question. You have it, it is yours and people want to buy it from you. Unless you are a money is no option player and it is an item you just can't play the game without......SELL IT!! Inevitably there will be more of them looted or given away as prizes or there will be another item you will want even more. Sell while the price is high, repurchase later when the price is low. Scenario two, don't rush to buy the item. Be patient, as I said before, there will be more of the item or a better one. Lot's of money has been made in Entropia Universe letting someone else be the one to parade around that new weapon or armor while someone else counts their PEDs all the way to the bank.
